Nice mod here. The Mini Cannon can be accessed by pressing button 3 twice and uses shotgun shells for ammo. Uses? I mean chews. But what would you expect from such a powerful piece of destruction.
The model and the skin are nicely done, looking somewhat of an old style gatling gun. It also shows shells discharging which is a nice touch. It also provides some new sounds which are good as well.
Once added to your other weapons the mini cannon quickly becomes the most powerful of the lot. Just a few shots to most Quake enemies will throw them back, chew through them, and leave only a pile of gibs for you to step over. It also has the ability to direct hit through walls! I especially liked being able to blast away at the second building in e1m1 and upon entering finding nothing but gibs. 
Overall, the mini cannon is a great addition to gameplay and has no substitute for power.
