As a player, I to often see others dishonor themselves in combat. We, the old timers need to teach the new players that TFC can be a field of Honor, where more then a score is at stake.

We need to take the new player and let him know that calling everyone in the game “cheater” is not acceptable unless he has proof of the accusation. We should instruct them that all the games, even the losses are “Good Games” because we were at least allowed to practice our skills and become better players. And our enemy was gracious enough to allow us to see how he wins against what was hopefully our best.

We should tell them that “respawn camper” is not a badge of honor. And that the “Cap” is not theirs personally, but the teams. It belongs to the soldier who was killing enemy defenses before the flag runner entered. It belongs to the Engineer who held his ground as the enemy advanced and fell. It is for the Sniper who cleared the approach to the enemy base. It is for all those who kept the enemy engaged as they made off with that flag. No, it is not a “MY” flag, it is an “OUR” flag.

The difference between wining and whining is small indeed, but it is a difference that need be taught to each of us. Not only to make the game more enjoyable, but to make us better players as well. As the enemy boasts that they have beaten you and you sulk in the loss, try to remember that we have all lost games but that not all of us have lost our honor.

At first we were all lost in the confusion of battle. And we have all become frustrated with our skills as we improved “all to slowly”. Unfortunately, some have fallen to that frustration and resorted to dishonorable ways of wining. Game Cheats have come and gone, only to be replaced be another “new improved” cheat. Respawn rooms have fallen victim to enemy “spam”, and taunts poor forth like a flood. Yet through it all, a few, a valiant few continue to hold their heads up in honor.

These are the warriors that we should strive to be, the honorable combatant who wins and looses with grace. No harsh badgering will ever be heard from them. No cheats are used nor do they accuse their combatants of using them. If they are beaten then thy try to correct the mistakes they made and learn from the fight. When they win, they are gracious and thankful for the opportunity to prove themselves yet again, on The Field of Honor.
