About this whole TFC thing.. I would like to side with Stan[AR], me and stan have been TF'ing since the beginning of time together, multiple clans together... CoRP, AR, etc... and we also share the same opinion.. If TF moves on to an engine that in any way resembles the Half-Life Multi.. I am quitting for sure... maybe me and stan can make our own game and live happily ever after on our beloved quake engine.. Shouts to my bud Shroud ;) keep up the good news..

(Editors note: I would think you and a lot of others would have a bit more faith in Valve Software. I doubt there is any game that has been recently released that has not had some problems and needed some fixes and tweaking along the way. You can always use your HL cd for a coaster, that's what I use the AOL CD's for that I get in the mail constantly.)

I just want to have someone post this now before TFC actually gets released. Here goes:

I think the helmet on the engineer looks incredibly stupid. It is not all bad though, I do like the graphics somewhat, it is just the fact that it is a pink or a pink-ish color in the screenshot. I think, and I am hoping you agree with me, that the helmet should be chromed just like the magnum in the game. No matter what team the guy is on. It would just totally kick ass if it was chromed! Please, if you agree that the helmet (as is) looks bad, post a story on your page stating such. I think that since we are waiting this long we should at least get a kick-ass engineer helmet out of the deal.

(Editors note: I duno, it kind of looks like Fuchsia to me and I am a bit partial to Fuchsia. When I was young, (A couple of Decades ago) I painted my bed room Black and Fuchsia and had a bunch of black light posters and stuff.... I was a late blooming Hippie you see. could someone help me out,ive just upgraded my p.c. to a p2 350mmx with a diamond viper v550 card and now i cant get into team fortress is the viper card compatable,the guy who sold me the p.c.told me the viper was a top card,i was going to get a diamond monster 2 & he talked me out of it saying the viper was better,now im not so sure..was he pulling my plonk or what.I would appreciate any help so i can get back to gibbing in glqwcl .

(Editors note: Well Steve, if the sales man was pulling your plonk, I would suggest shopping somewhere else. Unless of course he/she was the opposite gender and you liked it. That will usually cost you extra though and they do such things to get you sidetracked as to what you are really looking for. Hm... Plonk passed my spell checker, I wonder what it is?)

I just would like to know when TF-STUFF is opening up again..That re-skin-doing-thing is taking quite alot of time..So needless to say im beginning to be concerned (Or whatever the way it is spelled)

(Editors note: You know how long it takes a snake to shed it's skin? Well TF-Stuff is bigger than a snake so it takes longer. TF Stuff is still there btw, I guess it is just still being worked on. So it is not actually closed. I believe they will be getting a wake up call from PlanetFortress soon though... Four months to redo a site is a bit long.)

I just thought I would comment on that segment. I do think it is a lame subject to even discuss, but I'm gonna anyway :) I personally don't care if people wanna start gender/racial requirment clans/guilds, but when they start to promote it over a news bulletin, then it becomes an issue with me. I don't think that they need to promote something that divides the Quakin' Community in that way... I aggree with [A]Necromanzer-TFM about that. Comon people, don't let these issues change how we play this wonderful game...

(Editors note: This whole thing started with the forming of the For Woman Only irc chat channel I think. This was a HARMLESS announcement. A few females decided to start a private irc channel. It is no different than a clan wanting a private channel. With the vast amount of people who play TF, there are bound to be certain races, classes and genders who would like to form channels to get to know each other and swap general info. It is of my opinion that many of you are much to sensitive about this issue. Unless I was to get complaints about any given irc "club", I will continue to announce them. It would become glaringly obvious if one were to promote racial unrest or unacceptable ethnic behavior. )

as always it takes a sane person to see through the foolishness of segregated Team Fortress comunity. TF is male and female. but at the same time. get mature girls and guys.

(Editors note: I guess I am immature, insane and a fool because I see no problem with this at all. As long as it is not blatantly racists. Like a KKK group or a white supremacist group. I obviously would not condone something of that nature. But come on, a female irc chat group hardly threatens the TF community. That is so close minded. Would you say the same about an irc group composed of TF scientists or doctors or lawyers? (Well yeah, maybe Lawyers) I am not going to discuss politics here any more and will treat any other messages on this subject in a different way. Like may be you are threatened because you have 12 sisters and and they pick on you constantly so you have a poor outlook on the female gender?)

You have a point that they may not mean harm in an all woman organization, but look at the other aspect. What if someone started FWO (for whites only). It seems that both ideas could be peaceful, but I can also see how each may threaten or offend someone else. However, I think 'fighting the hate' means not being offended so easily, and trying to understand why people do what they do. I am personally not offended by the idea, and my opinion is that FWO was formed as a way for women to get a better recognition as players. Another organization started long ago was a female's gaming site, which has addressed issues concerning female players about discrimination and harassment on servers, and given them a fun place to fraternize without being pressured by men for their phone numbers or cybersex. I wish "for women only" the best luck in the world.

I've noticed this as a relatively new phenomemon. My question is... why don't the stupid Admins turn teamkill off? That would take care of this problem in one stroke. There's no good reason to have TeamKill enabled on a pub server. Just makes for more trouble. My $.02

(Editors note: It is my belief that it is done this way because if team kill is off, it promotes spamming. I don't think it helps much myself. I hate team kill on because I have poor eyesight. One of the few times I have been kicked from a server is when I killed to many teammates as I was not used to team kill. So if a server chooses to run team kill on, they should also set the server to kick you if you kill to many teammates. That would solve that problem.)
