Here are the results of the HL CD Contest. We got some really good submissions. darksky sent in a great wallpaper, it is currently chilling on my desktop, check it out. We received a few stories and some really creative pics. I wish I could share them all with you, but today I'm here to announce the winners. I would like to thank All Seeing Eye, GameSpy, and Valve. With out them, this contest would not be here. All entries open up a new window.

Third Prize Winners:
Each third place winner receives a registration to GameSpy Arcade. TF Deciple takes one with his awesome plea for the cd. I feel like I'm doing the world some great injustice not having him as a first place winner. Please read his entry. Also pUrPLe jArGOn sent in a set of pics of him dressed up as a medic and demoman.

Second Prize Winner:
[P]Jaygr The Monkey snagged a registered copy of ASE and the Half-Life T-shirt, with him telling us why TFC is so great. Here's a clip:

I had a bunch of ideas and things I had made previously that I wanted to submit for this contest. But nothing I wanted to use fit the size requirements. So I figured that the best I could do is just write out an explanation and tell it like it is.
Congrats, the package is in the mail.

Grand Prize Winner:
Congratulations are in order for Studfire for his kick ass flier and text submission!

I love Team Fortress because it is original and fun. Teamwork and the wide variety of maps, classes, weapons, and strategies keep this game so much fun. I was introduced to TFC back in Setember of 2000 by one of my friends. I'm glad of it. I was not good at it, but I had fun. I made several friends through the game and we hung out alot on AIM/MSN/ICQ and we played as good buddies. Then me and my friend(who introduced me to TFC) decided to start our own clan. It was small(only 4 peeps) before it died. Since then I've been through 4 clans until I landed in a secure, rooted Last Line of Defense clan. Since I started playing I have been different type of player. I have been involved in the clan scene, the only-pub scene, and the cheater scene. Yup, cheating. I regret it so much now. I was cheating until I found the PlanetFortress community. I arrived on the old forums as a only-reading board guest. Reading the type of stuff on the forums ranging from anti-cheating, llamas and lamers was teaching me valuable stuff. I got rid of the cheats, wanting to be involved in a great community of TFC'ers who are willing to help, make you laugh, have a gg with ya and all else. I am glad that PlanetFortress changed me and TFC is still fun, although now I really only play with my clan since I'm busy being in a clan.

I decided to enter this contest and show my love for TFC/PlanetFortress by making an introductory flyer of TFC and hanging it at my school. Now I just had a high feeling the principal wouldn't allow this kind of flyer to be hung in the school halls(have to get permission from principal, yeah) so I hung it early before school, took some pics with my digital camera(cameras not allowed, either :0

Maybe some peeps will see it before it gets ripped down and decide to check it out? Who knows.

Stud takes home the signed cd for posting up a TFC/PF flier at his school. As you can see he posted the flyer (click to view.) near the lockers as proof. Turns out the flyer lasted a few days before some bastard (probably a CS player) ripped it down. What can I say, it was a great idea. Congrats man!
