Robin Walker had the following to say about the "War Movie" feel that Valve is going for to TF2Center:
"The war movie theme is used aesthetically in the game, in order to help players understand the game very quickly. The basic idea behind this is that everyone can recognize various elements in a war movie, and they can use this to get into the game more quickly. For example, if a first-time player were given an odd looking contraption that fires green globs of goo, he really wouldn't know what it does. On the other hand, everyone's seen a machine gun before, and they know it works and what it does."
This is probably the most important pice of information that you'll know about TF2 before you get a chance to play it, the realism factor (Again this is a quote from Robin Walker):
Valve is not going all out on the realism factor -- they will make the game realistic only if it adds to the gameplay. For example, if you shoot a guy in the leg, he might limp away, but the player himself isn't actually affected, because it isn't much fun to move at a crawl, to bleed to death, or to get killed by one lucky shot to the head.
I for one am very excited about this concept, and look forward to see what Valve has in store for us.

Release Date: Currently there is none. Online pre-order suppliers, stores, all are really good at making them up. Even Sierra has made a statment that needed correction on TF2's homepage. But until Valve knows, then decides to let others know, they are all rumors. But when they do spread the word, we'll let the world know.

System Requirements: There are many different sets of System Requirements floating around, many are when TF2 was going to be an add-on for Half-Life. I asked Valve what they are now, unfortunately, they have not determined "final" system requirements.
